I am a full time Counsellor & Psychotherapist with over 18 years psychotherapeutic experience offering: Psychodynamic, Jungian, CBT, Solution Focused and Spiritual Counselling, Relationship Couples Counselling and Psychotherapy for adults and young adults (18+) from Aylestone in Leicester. I offer appointments from: Monday to Friday 10:00 - 20:00 either face to face or online via Facetime or Teams.
I also offer reduced fees for people on a limited income and an initial free of charge 30 minute consultation.
Most of us experience times in our lives when we feel lost, worried or anxious. This might be because of specific difficulties such as anxiety, depression, night terrors, bereavement, low self esteem and confidence. It could also be a general sense of feeling different and not fitting in. Or feeling isolated and lonely and not understanding why. I have supported people with many issues whilst working for a large charity, a local University and in private practice now for many years.
For counselling I use: CBT, Person Centred Therapy, Relationship Therapy and Solution Focused techniques. For open ended Psychotherapy, I use Psychodynamic and Jungian modalities, which explore at a deeper level; childhood memories, dreams, trauma, relationship attachment problems and developmental issues. I also have an interest in the Personality Adaptation (Disorder) spectrum, I'm also a certified trauma specialist.
Your childhood experiences, dreams, memories and current feelings in the ‘here and now’ are uniquely personal. Talking to an experienced, accredited therapist, offers you the opportunity to explore previously unresolved feelings, and behaviours that might have made you feel lost, confused and even ‘held you back’ for many years. Exploring your inner world can be life changing and extremely empowering.
I work with couples (18+) regardless of sexuality and gender identity) who find it difficult to connect and maintain long term, intimate loving relationships. You might after a certain period of time, find yourself withdrawing from your partner, or you might be someone who finds it painful and anxiety provoking to be apart from them, relationship counselling can help. I'm a certified Trauma specialist and I trained for 4 years with the University of Leicester. I hold two Postgraduate Diplomas, a Certificate in Relationship Couples Therapy and Psychodynamic Counselling. I have achieved Senior Accredited status with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy MBACP (Snr. Accred), I'm also a member of the National Counselling & Psychotherapy Society NCPS (Snr. Accred). My private practice is based in Aylestone, close to Clarendon Park and the University of Leicester with plenty of free parking.
